Euphrasian Basilica in Porec: De Euphrasius basiliek in Porec is een 6de eeuwse kerk. Een 4de eeuws oratorium werd in 539- 553 voor bisschop Euphrasius verbouwd tot de basiliek in Porec. Nog enkele malen werd de Eufrasius basiliek verbouwd. Enkele 4de eeuwse vloermozaïken zijn bewaard gebleven. De Euphrasian Basilica is in Byzantijnse stijl gebouwd. Door een poort komt men op het atrium, met daaraan de basiliek, het 6de eeuwse achthoekige baptisterium en de 6de eeuwse Bisschoppelijke Residentie. De klokkentoren van de Euphrasius basiliek is uit de 16de eeuw. Samen vormen ze een Werelderfgoedsite: Episcopaal complex van de Euphrasius basiliek in Porec.

In de apsis van de Euphrasius basiliek in Porec bevinden zich 6de eeuwse Byzantijnse mozaïken, blauw en groen op gouden fond. De zuilen in de Euphrasius basiliek hebben gebeeldhouwde bogen. Het 13de eeuwse ciborium in het priesterkoor wordt gedragen door marmeren zuilen. De mozaïken van de Euphrasius basiliek in Porec zijn met de mozaïken van vroeg-christelijke monumenten in Ravenna een voorbeeld van vroeg-christelijke Byzantijnse kunst in Europa. Porec ligt in Kroatië aan de westkust van Istrië.
